In 2009 Stanford was rated the nation’s 3rd best college course by golf coaches. Notable players from Stanford that honed their skills on this course include Tom Watson, Tiger Woods, and Mickey Wright.
Del Paso Country Club was originally designed in 1916 by golf professional John Black. In 2006, the course reopened after a renovation by Kyle Phillips that restored the course to its former glory. Designed by possibly the greatest golf course architect ever, Alister MacKenzie, Green Hills CC will offer you a variety of strategic options for play, will provide both a challenge for the low handicap player and be fair for the higher handicap player, and present you with a beautiful setting just outside the city. Green Hills has not appeared on the schedule for many years, so take advantage of this great opportunity to play it!
The golf course at Sequoyah is as difficult to master as it is verdant and beautiful, with hilly terrain and small, sloping greens to challenge the most skilled golfer. With no parallel fairways and no two holes alike, Sequoyah is truly a joy to experience. The course is a challenging par 70 for men and par 72 for women, with one of the highest slope/yardage ratios of any layout in California. Rolling hills, sloping fairways and lightning fast greens demand the best of every golfer while providing sweeping vistas and a luxurious evergreen backdrop.
Tree lined fairways, occasional water, and strategically placed bunkers and hazards set the tone for Almaden CC, which is challenging and appreciated by golfers of every ability. Almaden Country Club hosted the LPGA and Nike Tour for over 14 years, as well as zone qualifying for the U.S. Amateur Tournament. This is another course that has not made an appearance on our schedule for more than 5 years.

The par-72, 7,200-yard championship layout was designed by world-renowned Scottish golf course architect David McLay Kidd to blend harmoniously with its unspoiled surroundings on Walpert Ridge, more than 1,500 feet above the East Bay. The course’s design takes full advantage of the topography’s sweeping panoramic vistas, rolling grasslands, wind-twisted oaks, and lichen-glazed outcroppings to create a stunning test of golf reminiscent of the grand links-style courses of Scotland.
The Club’s 6,700-yard Falls Course, designed by Ted Robinson, was completed in 1986. The Falls Course features five lakes and a spectacular waterfall as the backdrop to the 11th green. You will also experience some of the most stunning East Bay Vistas, elevation changes and one of the most spectacular views from the 10th tee and the Falls Clubhouse.
Course architect Alister MacKenzie touted this layout as his favorite, even above Augusta National and Cypress Point Club. It is ranked in the top 3 of “Best courses you can play in California” by Golf Digest.
The only Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course on the famed Monterey Peninsula, Nicklaus Club – Monterey is an extraordinary piece of golf architecture from the game’s consummate designer of the modern era. A captivating journey through ancient oaks, dramatic hills and scenic valleys, the course is a blend of intrinsic Nicklaus shot value and strategy within its secluded, natural surroundings. Native grasses and free-flowing bunkers accent the par 71, which subtly adapts to distinctive elevation changes for a thoroughly entertaining golfing experience.
Lake Merced is continually a favorite among Outings each year, and fills up very quickly for good reason. Considered one of the greatest layouts in California, the course has had alterations done by both MacKenzie and Rees Jones. Located in the heart of San Francisco, Lake Merced GC will be one of the most enjoyable golf experiences you have ever had.
