Welcome to the Regional Meetings & Area Workshops Resource Page

Since we had to host our meetings virtually this year, we had to find another way to distribute the information that is important to you as club officers and members. We created this resource page, so you may access these tools at your leisure and come back to them as you wish.  If there are other tools or tips you need, please do let us know and we will try to include them here.  Please note that NCGA has an entire section of the website designed to support our member clubs, there is a wealth of information to assist you as you carry out your duties as a club officer.  Please visit the page here.

World Handicap System (WHS)/Handicapping

The spirit of golf lies in proper handicapping. The source of equitable handicap indexes is an accurate course rating system. The NCGA follows USGA principles and rates each of its courses through the direction of staff and well-trained course rating committee members.

Support the Junior Girls Grants Program

The Junior Girls Golf Grant Program began in 2002 as a commitment from the Pacific Women’s Golf Association (PWGA) to support junior girls in golf. Since then the Women’s Golf Association of Northern California (WGANC) made a commitment of their own to a grants program and the program has grown tremendously. Grants awarded to date are over $300,000. The program is administered through the Northern California Golf Association’s (NCGA) Women’s Golf Committee and Youth On Course (YOC).

Grants of up to $1,000 are made available to any Junior Girls Golf Programs within Northern California.  Learn more about the program

Adam Schafer, Development Manager of YOC explains more about the mission of YOC and how the fundraising efforts are making a difference in the lives of young golfers!  Beyond affordable golf, they provide opportunities for young people to get the support they need to succeed through  career prep, leadership and scholarship programs.  Watch video now
