Sectional qualifying has completed the field for the upcoming 2016 U.S. Women’s at CordeValle, to be held July 7-10.
While there’s still Sectional Qualifying to go, the field for the 2016 U.S. Women’s Open is beginning to take shape. Among those exempt are 2010 champion Paula Creamer and 2014 champ Michelle Wie.
Ticket packages are now available for the 2016 U.S. Women’s Open at CordeValle in San Martin. It will mark the first time the U.S. Women’s Open has been held in the Bay Area. A number of volunteer positions are also still available.
The USGA announced that the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open will be held at the Olympic Club. It means that two U.S. Women’s Opens will be held in NorCal in a span of five years. This year’s U.S. Women’s Open is being held at CordeValle in San Martin.
Junior Tour of Northern California players Lucy Li and Kathleen Scavo and alum Paige Lee all advanced to the U.S. Women’s Open. Li, at age 11, is the youngest qualifier ever.
