The Northern California Golf Association is delighted to announce Joe Huston as its next executive director. Huston succeeds Vaughn Kezirian, who graciously served as the executive director for the past two years.

NCAA Division I men’s golf returns to Poppy Hills Golf Course with the St. Mary’s Invitational, which begins Monday and runs through Wednesday. Now in its 10th year, the 54-hole Invitational originally was held at Poppy Hills.
NorCal natives Bryson DeChambeau and Maverick McNealy won the Morse Cup together playing for the NCGA at the Pacific Coast Amateur. Then they met at the U.S. Amateur, where DeChambeau got the win. This weekend, they’ll team up again for the U.S. at the Walker Cup at Royal Lytham and St. Annes.
With his win at the U.S. Amateur, Bryson DeChambeau joined Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Ryan Moore as the only players to win the title and NCAA Championship in the same year. The last NorCal player to win the U.S. Amateur was Ricky Barnes in 2002.
