The 81 juniors who will compete in this year’s Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach and Poppy Hills were announced on Wednesday. The Champions Tour event is slated for Sept. 13-18.
Junior Tour of Northern California member Jack Avrit of The First Tee of Central Coast won the Pro-Junior with partner Mark O’Meara. Tom Watson turned back the clock and nearly picked up another win at Pebble Beach.
The pros are back at Poppy Hills Golf Course for the 2015 Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach. Among Friday’s low scores on the NCGA home course were a pair of 68’s from a pair of Scotsmen–Colin Montgomerie and Sandy Lyle.

The JTNC has been a force in recent years at the First Tee Open. Alums Casie Cathrea (2011) and Michelle Xie (2013) both won the Pro-Junior, while Danville’s Joshua McCarthy was set to win last year’s event. That is, until, Christopher Meyers hit one of the greatest shots in Pebble Beach history.
Davis Love III, who recently became the third oldest player to win on the PGA Tour when he captured the Wyndham Championship, headlines a star-studded field for the upcoming Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach and Poppy Hills. Admission to the tournament is free.
