Hanna-Wehrman Cup Matches
The NCGA continued its recent dominance over the pros from the NCPGA, winning the Hanna-Wehrman Cup by a score of 13-7.
A day after taking a 7-3 lead in Four-Ball and Foursomes play, the NCGA outscored the NCPGA, 6-4, in Singles play. Winning matches for the NCGA were Weston Payne (4 and 2), Mike Stieler (5 and 4), Nick Moore (4 and 3), Jason Anthony (1-up), Matt Cohn (1-up ) and Garett Wagner (4 and 3). The NCPGA got victories from Jason Owen (3 and 2), Michael Duncan (3 and 1), Dave Carr (3 and 2) and Brad Marek (2 and 1).
The NCGA now leads in the Hanna-Wehrman Cup series, 25-19-10. The NCGA has now won the Cup 12 of the last 14 years.
Staedler-Jetter Cup Matches
The NCGA made it a sweep, as Team NCGA won the Staedler-Jetter Cup by a score of 14.6-6.5 over the NCPGA.
A day after taking a 5-2 lead in Four-Ball, the NCGA outscored the NCPGA, 9.5-4.5 in Singles play. Getting wins for the NCGA were Mark Morgan (2-up), Joey Ferrari (3 and 2), Randy Haag (8 and 6), Scott Anderson (3 and 1), Mike Staskus (2 and 1), Casey Boyns (3 and 2), Jeff Britton (4 and 3), Frank Pieper (2 and 1) and Chuck Richesin (2-up). Getting victories for the NCPGA were Patrick Shaw (1-up), Dana Jetter (1-up), Jim Hosley (3 and 2) and Glen Stubblefield (1-up).
The NCGA now leads the Staedler-Jetter Cup series, 25-19-10.

Hanna-Wehrman Cup Matches
The NCGA grabbed a commanding 4-1 lead backed by four victories in Four-Ball. Getting wins for the NCGA were the teams of Jason Anthony and Domingo Jojola (4 and 3), Brett Viboch and Garett Wagner (3 and 2), Weston Payne and Stephen Hale (2 and 1) and Juan Gonzalez and Mike Stieler (1-up). The NCPGA got a win from the tandem of Steve Watanabe and Michael Duncan (1-up).
Staedler-Jetter Cup Matches
The NCGA took a big 5-2 lead thanks in part to four victories. Getting wins for the NCGA were teams of Casey Boyns and Jeff Britton (3 and 2), Joey Ferrari and Mike Staskus (2 and 1), Randy Haag and Robert Funk (2 and 1) and Frank Pieper and Chuck Richesin (3 and 2). The team of Rodney Wilson and Dana Jetter picked up a point for the NCPGA via a 5 and 4 win. Two of the seven matches finished in a tie.

The Hanna-Wehrman Cup features 10 amateur players representing the NCGA (top players from the previous season’s points list) taking on 10 professional players representing the Northern California PGA in a Ryder Cup-like format. The Staedler-Jetter Cup features 14 amateur players ages 55-over (10 Seniors and four Super Seniors) representing the NCGA (top players from the previous season’s points list) taking on 14 professional players ages 55-over representing the Northern California PGA in a Ryder Cup-like format.
Format: The first day of play in both the Hanna-Wehrman Cup and Staedler-Jetter Cup consists of two rounds—one round of four-ball match play (better ball) and one round of foursome match play (alternate shot). The second day of play’s final rounds consist of singles match play.
The NCGA has won the Hanna-Werhman Cup 11 of the last 13 years. The NCPGA has won the Staedler-Jetter Cup six of the last eight years. The NCGA leads in the overall Hanna-Wehrman Cup series, 24-19-10. The NCGA leads in the overall Staedler-Jetter Cup series, 16-10-3.
