Brett Viboch and two others are on their way to this year’s U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship.
Viboch, currently the leader in the race for NCGA Player of the Year honors, was medalist in Tuesday’s 18-hole qualifier at Yocha Dehe, carding a 7-under 65.
Michael Jensen also advanced after finishing second at 66. The third and final automatic spot went to Marc Engellenner at 67. He would defeat first alternate Jeffrey Lai in a playoff.
This year’s U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship will tee off Sept. 25-30 at Sankaty Head Golf Club and Miacomet GC in Massachusetts.
