Tahoe City GC took the title, carding a final round 6-under 134 at Carmel Valley Ranch to come in with a two-day score of 12-under 270 playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four person team.
The Tahoe City GC squad is made up of teammates Michael Rowland, Mark Bechdolt, Ben Visnyei and Brett Pierce.
Second place went to Lake Tahoe GC at 273 following a second round 134.
Both Tahoe City GC and Lake Tahoe GC earned spots into this year’s NCGA Zone Championship, set for Aug. 30-31 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.
Copper Valley GC took the first round lead, carding a 9-under 133 Monday at Poppy Hills playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team. Copper Valley GC is comprised of teammates Randy Johnson, Kevin Baxter, Tony Baranes and Herb McClain.
Tahoe City GC and The Club at Apple Mountain are tied for second place at 136.
Tuesday’s second round will be held at Carmel Valley Ranch. Only the two low teams will advance to this year’s NCGA Zone Championship, set for Aug. 30-31 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.
