Eagle Ridge GC took the title at a tight NCGA South Bay Zone Championship. The Eagle Ridge GC squad–made up of teammates Russ Newman, Nolan Harding, Todd Antepenko and Tom Cech—shot a final round 124 Tuesday at Poppy Hills to come in at 28-under 254 playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team.
Moffett Field GC and Pasatiempo GC came in a tie for second at 257 after final rounds of 123 and 127, respectively. Pasatiempo GC won the playoff thanks to a 30-foot putt.
Eagle Ridge GC and Pasatiempo GC both earned spots into this year’s NCGA Zone Championship, set for Aug. 30-31 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.

This could end up being a wild one. Three teams—De LaVeaga GC 2, Eagle Ridge GC and Pasatiempo GC—are all tied after Monday’s first round of the annual NCGA South Bay Zone Championship. Each team opened with an identical score of 10-under 130 playing in a format that takes the best net scores of a four-person team.
Saratoga CC was alone in fourth place at 9-under.
Tuesday will see play shift to Poppy Hills.
The two low teams will advance to this year’s NCGA Zone Championship, slated for Aug. 30-31 at Spyglass Hill and Poppy Hills.
