Former St. Mary’s star Jonathan De Los Reyes held on for a big win at the Northern California Open at Coyote Creek Golf Course.
Now a mini-tour and once the holder of the course record on the new Poppy Hills Golf Course, De Los Reyes slid to a final-round 3-over 75, but still finished with a 3-day, 54-hole total of 9-under 207 to defeat runner-up Cody Blick by two shots.
Del Los Reyes, who won the 2014 Alameda Commuters by 11 shots, could afford to have a bit of a letdown. He had entered the final round holding a six-shot lead thanks to opening rounds of 65 and 67.
Blick, a former winner of the NorCal Open, had a final round 72. The former San Jose State star had opened with a 66.
Low Amateur honors went to Fresno resident Garrett Boe. A sophomore at CSU-Fullerton, Boe finished with a 3-day score of 10-under 215 after a final round 73. He carded a 69 in Tuesday’s second round.
Richard Yai and Dylan Vanderveer tied for second at 216 after final rounds of 70 and 72, respectively.
