Renovations Coming to Diablo Country Club

The membership of Diablo Country Club in Diablo recently approved a $31 million improvement that celebrates the club’s tradition of excellence and as a welcoming place for families and recreation.
The improvements include a complete restoration of the iconic course and a new state-of-the-art Family Activities & Wellness Center. The center will include a full-service fitness facility, group fitness, massage, childcare, teen center, general store, casual restaurant with indoor-outdoor bar and pizza oven, bocce courts and a golf simulator lounge with the world’s finest swing analysis and gaming technology.

The club also recently announced the hiring of Jim Collins PGA (pictured, right) as Director of Instruction. Collins is nationally recognized by US Kids as a “Top 50 Master Teaching Professional.” Collins’ career includes a long list of accomplishments including taking his PGA Junior League Team to win the National Championship in 2014. Collins will launch an “Elite” Junior Academy as his first signature program at Diablo CC.
Collins’ background in Kinesiology compliments his expert teaching techniques which incorporate improving strength and mobility for players of all levels and ages. Collins will develop a full suite of Player Development programs for the members of Diablo Country Club.
Historic Diablo Country Club is nestled at the foot of Mt. Diablo in the rolling hills of the East Bay region of San Francisco, CA. The legendary Diablo Country Club that today occupies 115 acres was originally the heart of the 6,000-acre Oakwood Park Farm in 1880. The club has been serving its membership for over 100 years and enjoys the unique attribute as California’s original family-oriented golf club.
Excellence and sportsmanship for generations of members have stood the test of time. The iconic 18-hole golf course designed by legends Jack Neville and William Watson, the only collaboration by these two icons in the world and the oldest California course that maintains its original routing.
