The Ridge GC ran away with the title at the annual NCGA East Sacramento Zone Championship.
The winning team, made up of teammates Scott Clendenen, Michael Browning, Michael Oconnell and Randy Havens shot a final round 11-under par for a tournament total 38-under 248 playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team.
Finishing in second place at 23-under par was Cameron Park CC. Rob Motz, Matt Zimmerman, Jon Abers and Brian Schuler shot the low round Tuesday with a 12-under 130. The round earned them a one-shot advantage over the third-place team from Whitney Oaks GC.
By finishing first and second, The Ridge GC and Cameron Park CC advance to the NCGA Zone Championship, set for August 26-27 at Spyglass Hill and Poppy Hills.

The Ridge GC is the team to chase after day one of the annual NCGA East Sacramento Zone Championship. The team posted a stellar 27-under 117 Monday at par-72 Bayonet/Black Horse GC in Seaside playing in a format that takes the two best net scores from a four-person team.
In second place at 123 is Whitney Oaks GC. Winchester CC is in third at 125.
Only the two low teams will advance to this year’s NCGA Zone Championship, set for August 26-27 at Spyglass Hill and Poppy Hills.
Tuesday’s final round will see play shift to par-71 Poppy Hills.
