San Jose State women’s head coach Dana Dormann showed she’s still got game herself.
Dormann, a two-time winner on the LPGA Tour and the Spartans coach since August 2018, fired a medalist-earning even-par 71 Thursday at Stanford Golf Course in an 18-hole qualifier for this year’s U.S. Senior Women’s Open. She’d post 14 pars, two birdies and two bogeys.
Also advancing to the championship proper were runner-up and NCGA Hall of Famer Sally Krueger (76), pro Kathryn Imrie (77), multiple NCGA champion Marianne Towersey (77) and multiple California Women’s Amateur champ Lynne Cowan (78).
This year’s U.S. Senior Women’s Open will tee off May 16-19 at Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club in North Carolina.
