Rare Double Aces at PWGA Play Day
A recent PWGA Ladies Play Day at Diablo Hills GC in Walnut Creek featured a rare occurrence.
Sharon Greene got things going by acing the 88-yard, par-3 4th hole using an 9-iron. It was the first time that Greene had scored an ace.
“I thought, ‘Oh great, I’m going to win Closest to the Pin,’” Greene said.
Moments later, however, Susan Miller, playing in the same foursome, aced the hole using a 7-iron.
According to the National Hole in One Registry, the odds of two players from the same foursome acing the same hole are 17 million to 1.
