Bailey Creek GC shot a final round 13-under 127 Tuesday at par-71 Carmel Valley Ranch to win the annual NCGA North Sierra Zone Championship.
The Bailey Creek squad, made up of teammates Bob Brockway, John Peragallo, Bob Johnson and Don Robinson, finished the event with a two-day total of 26-under 256. In the finale, they’d card five eagles and three birdies to go against a bogey and a double-bogey playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-man team.
Second place went to Arrowhead GC at 259 following a second round 130, The Arrowhead GC team, made up of Harold Montague, Jake Aaron, Jack Britton III and Greg Valencia, had three eagles and six birdies to go against two bogeys.
Both Bailey Creek GC and Arrowhead GC earned automatic spots into this year’s NCGA Zone Championship, slated for August 27-28 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.
Fall River GC was third at 263.

We have a tie atop the leader board after round one of the annual North Sierra Zone Championship.
Bailey Creek GC and Arrowhead GC both shot an opening round 13-under 129 at par-71 Poppy Hills. The Bailey Creek team, made up of Bob Brockway, John Peragallo, Bob Johnson and Don Robinson, made five eagles, four birdies and one bogey in a format that takes the best two net scores per hole from the four-man team.
Arrowhead GC, including Harold Montague, Jake Aaron, Jack Britton III and Greg Valencia, had one double-eagle, six eagles, one birdie, along with one bogey and one double-bogey on their card in round one.
Chasing the leaders and tied for third place are Fall River Valley GC and Lakeridge GC who both shot 9-under 133.
Tuesday’s final round will see play shift over to par-70 Carmel Valley Ranch.
Only the two low teams following play will advance to this year’s NCGA Zone Championship, slated for August 27-28 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.
