Benbow GC took the title at the annual NCGA North Zone Championship, posting a final round score of 21-under 121 Tuesday at par-71 Poppy Hills Golf Course to finish at 29-under 253.
The Benbow GC squad, made up of teammates Justin Graham, Pat Goodman, Travis Early and Jeff Henderson, posted seven eagles and seven birdies to go against just one bogey playing in a format that takes the two best net scores per hole of a four-man team.
Earning second place after a three-team playoff was Eureka GC. The Eureka GC squad, made up of teammates Kevin Stites, Rocky McCovey, Mike Smith and Eddie Schrock, won on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff.
Eureka GC, Bigfoot G&CC and Beau Pre GC all finished regulation tied at 19-under 263.
Benbow GC and Eureka GC earned automatic spots into this year’s NCGA Zone Championship, slated for August 27-28 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.

Beau Pre GC took the first round lead in the NCGA North Zone Championship, posting a 10-under 130 Monday at pa4-70 Carmel Valley Ranch.
The Beau Pre squad, made up of teammates Paul Cagigas, Brandon Buck, Kevin Raimey and Miles Slattery, carded three eagles and eight birdies to go against one bogey and two double-bogeys playing in a format that takes the two best net scores per hole of a four-man team.
In second place at 131, just a stroke back, is Gold Hills GC. Gold Hills, made up of teammates Wayne Card, Todd Serna, Douglas Cady and Michael Downing, posted three eagles and six birdies to go against three bogeys.
Tied for third place at 132 are Benbow GC and Eureka GC.
Tuesday’s second round will see play shift to par-71 Poppy Hills GC.
Only the low two teams will advance to this year’s NCGA Zone Championship, slated for August 27-28 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.
