Pebble Beach’s Seb Crampton is in the lead at the annual Alameda Commuters Championship, but he’s got plenty of company at the top.
Crampton, a red-shirt junior at Cal, emerged from opening weekend of the championship at Chuck Corica Golf Complex with a 36-hole score of 8-under 134. He leads both Jason Anthony and Noah Woolsey by one stroke.
A former Stevenson School standout, Crampton made his big move with a first round 65 on the par-71 Earl Fry North Course.
Anthony, currently in first place in the 2017 NCGA Player of the Year points standings, also shot a first round 65. Woolsey, a former member of the Junior Tour of Northern California, had opening rounds of 67-68.
The championship concludes this coming weekend with another 36-holes on Saturday and Sunday. The Senior Championship, a 36-hole event, will also begin this coming weekend (April 29-30).
