Big Sur Flight (12.4-below handicap index)
Livermore’s Taylor Robles made it a wire-to-wire win, posting a final round even-par 71 to finish at 2-over 144 and defeat runner-up Suzy Duarte of Prunedale by three shots.
Robles was steady in the finale, carding six birdies to go against three bogeys and a triple-bogey. Duarte, who opened with a 77, made a push with a final round 70 but could get no closer. Third place went to Samantha Oliva of San Jose at 152 following a 75.
Golden Gate Flight (12.7-20.2 handicap index)
San Martin’s Jenny Liu also went wire-to-wire in capturing the title. Liu, who took a commanding six-shot lead with a first round 72, followed that up with a 75 to come in at 147 and win by six.
Liu’s two-day total included 10 birdies. Finishing in second place was Lijun Feng of Hayward at 153 after a 73. Third place went to Dublin’s Amy Harris at 154 following a card-off with Tina Chen of Cupertino.
Yosemite Flight (20.3-above handicap index)
In another wire-to-wire victory, Cathy Pementell of Oakland cruised to a six shot victory. Pementell, who grabbed a nine-shot lead with a red-hot opening 65, fell back to a 75 to come in at 140 but still won by six shots.
Finishing in second place was Alicia Meiners of San Martin at 146 following a soild 67. Third place went to Kirsten Harris of Tahoe City at 149 following a 74.

Santa Cruz resident Stacy Brown had the shot of the tournament, acing the par-3 11th in the final round. It was her first career hole-in-one!

Play in this year’s annual NCGA Women’s Net Amateur got underway under beautiful skies Monday at par-71 Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach. Here’s how things break down after the first round.
Big Sur Flight (12.4-below handicap index)
Livermore’s Taylor Robles is the player everyone else is chasing. Robles got off to a soild start, carding 2-over 73 that featured an eagle and two birdies to go against four bogeys and a double-bogey.
Bergen Benedict of Turlock is alone in second at 76. Three players–Suzy Duarte of Prunedale, Salinas’ Dorothy Donnelly and Samantha Oliva of San Jose–all are tied for third at 77. Donnelly is the defending Big Sur Flight champion.
Golden Gate Flight (12.7-20.2 handicap index)
Jenny Liu of San Martin is in good shape, albeit there is still a round to go. Liu posted a first round leading 1-over 72 that included five birdies, giving her a commanding six-shot lead after the first round.
In second place at 78 is Carina O’Brien of Berkeley. Three players–Lijun Feng of Hayward, Cupertino’s Tina Chen and Joanna Webb of Carnelian Bay–are all tied for third at 80.
Yosemite Flight (20.3-above handicap index)
Cathy Pementell of Oakland is in the driver’s seat. Pementell took the first round lead with a sizzling 6-under 65 that featured two eagles and seven birdies to go against five bogeys.
Her 65 gives her a nine-shot lead. In second place at 74 is Stephanie Krist of San Rafael. In third place is Kirsten Harris of Tahoe City at 75.
