Lodi resident Justin Gums and two others are headed to this year’s U.S. Junior Amateur Championship.
Gums punched his ticket to the championship by posting a medalist earning score of 6-under 138 in a 36-hole qualifier held Monday at par-72 Yolo Fliers Golf Club. He’d card 12 birdies and six bogeys over his rounds.
Also advancing were Trey Davis of Olivehurst and Ryan Burnett of Lafayette. Both shot 3-under 141.
The first alternate spot went to Wallace Lin of Los Gatos at 143. The second alternate spot was claimed by Kaiwen Liu of San Diego at 144.
