Eden Anderson and Bob Burnett turned on the jets, posting a final round 7-under 64 at Quail Lodge to win by two shots. Anderson and Burnett, who shot a first round 69, got their round going by opening with an eagle on the par-5 1st hole. They’d later tack on five more birdies while playing bogey-free.
Cindy Aafedt and William Henry Jr. placed second at 135 following a 69. The tandems of Kathleen and Wayne Byrne and Merry and Bill Ayres tied for third at 137 after rounds of 65 and 71, respectively.
Golden Gate Flight
The team of Iain Farquharson and Denise Kam came storming back to take the title. Coming off a first round 71, Farquharson and Kam posted a stellar 6-under 65 at Poppy Hills to finish at 6-under 136, winning by three. The duo had eight eight birdies and just two bogeys in the final round.
The teams of Pattie and David Owens and Risa and Gene Rogers both came in second at 139 following rounds of 70 and 72, respectively. The Owens’ were awarded second place following a card-off.
Terry Won and Jennie Kim caught fire, cruising to a win. Won and Kim shot a final round 8-under 63 at Quail Lodge to come in at 13-under 129, winning by seven shots. The Won and Kim squad had an ace on the par-3 8th to go with eight birdies. They’d only card two bogeys in the finale.
Theresa and Lionel Fernandez placed second at 136 following a final round 64. Third place went to the team of Pat Goodman and Nansea Russ, who came in at 137 after a final round 64.
Cindie Young and Mike Winkenbach finally got the win. Young and Winkenbach, who had medaled in previous events, shot a final round 3-under 68 at Poppy Hills to come in at 9-under 133, defeating the field by seven shots. The duo posted two eagles (par-4 5th and par-4 16th) and added four birdies to go against three bogeys and a double-bogey in the finale.
Finishing alone in second place at 140 following a 70 was the team of Joyce Glatt and Artie Schleifer. Third place went to the tandem of Melynda Li and Simon Tao at 141 after a 76.

A pair of teams hold the top spot after Friday’s first round at Poppy Hills Golf Course. Both the tandems of Cindy Aafedt and William Henry, Jr. and Merry and Bill Ayres opened with identical 5-under 66’s to grab a share of first place.
Aafedt and Henry racked up nine birdies to go against two bogeys and a double-bogey, while the Ayres had an eagle (par-5 9th) and six birdies to go against three bogeys.
The tandems of Glenda Peterson and Rich Talken and Eden Anderson and Bob Burnett are tied for third at 69.

The tandem of Risa and Gene Rogers is in the driver’s seat after opening with a first round leading 4-under 67 at Quail Lodge Resort. The Rogers tallied seven birdies to go against just three bogeys.
Alone in second place following a 68 is the team of Lisa and Randy Ronning. Pattie Owens and David Owens are in third place, just two shot backs, after an opening 69.
Jennie Kim and Terry Won have created some breathing room for themselves. Kim and Won carded a first round 5-under 66 to take a three shot lead over the field. The duo carded an eagle (par-4 13th) and six birdies to go against just one bogey and a double-bogey.
In a tie for second at 69 are the teams of Kimlien Tran and John Lee and Laura and Paublo Barrera.
The team to chase is Chaleen and Albert Lee. The Lees took the first round lead, posting a solid 8-under 63 at Quail Lodge Resort that included nine birdies and just one bogey.
The tandems of Cindie Young and Mike Winkenbach and Melynda Li and Simon Tao are tied for second, two shots back, after carding opening scores of 65.
