Turlock G&CC
The two teams that will represent Northern California in this year’s Cal Scratch League finals have been determined.
One of those is Turlock Golf and Country Club, who won Group 1 in Friday’s NorCal Finals at par-72 Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore. The Turlock G&CC dramatically punched its ticket to the finals, defeating Woodbridge G&CC in a sudden-death playoff.
The two teams finished tied with 26 points after regulation. Turlock G&CC was led by Brandon Christianson and Tom Clark, who each tallied five points. Chipping in four points for Turlock G&CC was Andre Navarro.
Woodbridge G&CC was paced by Kelly Runkle, Kevin Wolf and Danny Mladinovich, who each scored five points. San Jose CC finished in third place with 11 points.

Canyon Oaks
In Group 2 play, Canyon Oaks CC emerged the winner after earning 30 points. Leading Canyon Oaks were Kris Server, Greg Marskey, Mike O’Donnell, Dan Mehan and Rick Dollarhide, who all tallied five points.
Second place went to Kings River G&CC with 21 points, while Cameron Park GC placed third at 12.
The event uses a format that incorporates Stableford scoring, match play and stroke play.
This year’s Cal Scratch League Finals will be held Dec. 1 at Red Hill Country Club in Rancho Cucamonga.
