Garrick Higgo of South Africa and Sacramento’s Kyle Davies are headed to this year’s U.S. Amateur Championship.
Higgo shot a medalist-earning 36-hole score of 7-under 133, and Davies shot 134 as the pair advanced through a 36-hole qualifier held Monday at par-70 Peach Tree G&CC in Marysville.
Higgo had rounds of 65-68, while Davis shot 66-68.
The first alternate is Roseville’s Corey Eddings, who had 136 (67-69). Following a playoff, Idaho’s Derek Bayley claimed the second alternate spot at 138.
This year’s U.S. Amateur Championship will be held August 15-21 at Oakland Hills CC in Michigan.
