McInnis GC shot a final round 14-under 128 at par-71 Quail Lodge Resort to come back and win the annual NCGA North Bay Zone Championship.
The McInnis GC squad, comprised of teammates Erick Jensen, Kevin Banks, Ray Howard and Jeremy Nielson, had five eagles and seven birdies to go against a bogey and double-bogey in a format
that takes the two best net scores per hole of a four-man team. They’d finish with a two-day score of 25-under 257.
Finishing in second place at 259 was Silverado Resort. The Silverado squad, made up of teammates Jack Hopkins, Bruce Scarborough, Jim Ketcham and John Brandes, had four eagles and six birdies to go against two bogeys in the finale for a 130. They’d defeat The Sea Ranch GC and Windsor, who also finished at 259, in a playoff.
Both McInnis GC and Silverado Resort earned automatic berths into this year’s NCGA Zone Championship, slated for August 29-30 at Spyglass Hill and Poppy Hills.

Fountain Grove GC jumped out to the lead at this year’s NCGA North Bay Zone Championship after shooting a 14-under 126 at par-70 Carmel Valley Ranch, but there’s still another day to go.
Fountain Grove GC, made up of teammates John Horwath, Barry Bialkoski, Wes Lee and Jay Bansal, had four eagles and six birdies to go against two bogeys in a format that takes the two best net scores per hole of a four-man team.
Tied for second place, in at 129, are both McInnis GC and Silverado Resort. McInnis posted three eagles and seven birdies while Silverado Resort posted four eagles and six birdies.
Three teams are tied for fourth place at 131.
Friday’s final round will see play shift over to par-71 Quail Lodge Resort.
