Salinas’ Dorothy Donnelly went wire-to-wire to capture her first NCGA Women’s Net Amateur title at par-71 Poppy Hills Golf Course.
Donnelly, who opened with a 1-under 70 on Monday, followed that up with an even better 69 to finish the two-day event at 139 and win by eight.
In the second round, Donnelly posted eight birdies to go against four bogeys and just one double-bogey.
Both Moreno and Benedict came in at 147 following final rounds of 71 and 70, respectively. Moreno was awarded second place in a card-off due to having a better score on the back-nine.

San Francisco’s Bobbe Sabella had a comeback to remember.
Sabella, who entered the final round eight shots off the lead, fired a final round 2-under 69 to finish regulation tied with Monterey’s Rhonda Mohr at 145. In what became a sudden-death playoff, Sabella birdied the first hole to defeat Mohr and claim the title.
In the final round, Sabella had an eagle and three birdies to go against just four bogeys. Mohr had rounds of 72-73.
Stacy Brown of Santa Cruz, who jumped into the first round lead with a 68, fell back to third place at 146 following a 78.

Connie Vickroy of San Francisco held on for the wire-to-wire victory.
Vickroy, who took the lead with a 7-under 64 in the first round, shot a 76 to come in at 2-under 140, defeating runner-up Cathy Pementell of Oakland by two shots. In the finale, Vickroy had an eagle and three birdies to offset five bogeys, a double-bogey and a quadruple-bogey.
Pementell, who began the day nine strokes back, charged into second place thanks to a 69.
VanKirk, of Mill Valley, also made a move, posting a 69 to claim a share of third place with Tague. Tague, who opened with a 65, slipped back to an 81.

In second place is Nicki Anderson of Arroyo Grande at 75. Emily Rotter of Fremont and Kyleigh Moreno of San Jose are both T-3 after opening rounds of 75.

In the Golden Gate Flight, Stacy Brown took the lead, posting a solid 3-under 68.
Brown’s round included an eagle and four birdies to go against three bogeys.
Both Rhonda Mohr of Monterey and Ria Eagan of Carmel Valley are tied for second at 72. Jennie Kim of Milpitas is alone in third place at 73.

Connie Vickroy and Kelly Tague have broken away from the field.
Vickroy, of San Francisco, took the lead with a stellar 7-under 64 that featured three eagles and six birdies to go against three bogeys and a double-bogey. Tague, who’s in second place, posted a 65 that featured 11 birdies to go with three bogeys and a double-bogey.
Alone in third place is Dublin’s Marysa Sendee at 72.
