NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Returns to Poppy Hills With St. Mary’s Invitational

NCAA Division I men’s golf returns to Poppy Hills Golf Course with the St. Mary’s Invitational, which begins Monday and runs through Wednesday. Now in its 10th year, the 54-hole Invitational originally was held at Poppy Hills.

NorCal natives Bryson DeChambeau and Maverick McNealy won the Morse Cup together playing for the NCGA at the Pacific Coast Amateur. Then they met at the U.S. Amateur, where DeChambeau got the win. This weekend, they’ll team up again for the U.S. at the Walker Cup at Royal Lytham and St. Annes.
Public golf has always been a mainstay in San Francisco, providing city dwellers the chance to walk the same historic courses that have produced some of the game’s greatest champions.
Davis Love III, who recently became the third oldest player to win on the PGA Tour when he captured the Wyndham Championship, headlines a star-studded field for the upcoming Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach and Poppy Hills. Admission to the tournament is free.
