The Stanford Women’s golf team won its first national title on Wednesday, defeating Baylor, 3-2, in a thriller that went to extra holes. Junior Mariah Stackhouse came from three down in the crucial last match, and won with a par on the 19th hole to give the Cardinal the victory.
Terry Foreman and Casey Boyns took the title at Poppy Hills.

Rocklin’s Lynne Cowan repeated for her second senior win and sixth overall CWAC title.
After nearly 20 years, Stevinson Ranch Golf Course will close on July 18, 2015. The closure reflects a number of current realities in the golf market as well as the severity of California’s extended drought.

A new, wider 17th green at Pebble Beach Golf Links is slated to be unveiled on July 24. During the 2010 U.S. Open Championship, the 17th green gave players fits. In the final round, only seven of 83 players found the green.
