Fairfield resident Jeff Wilson claimed another title in Southern California.
Wilson, President at Toyota Vallejo, birdied the 18th hole at Santa Ana Country Club on Tuesday for a final round 1-under 71 and one shot win at the annual Southern California Golf Association Mid-Amateur Championship.
Also the winner of the 2008 SCGA Mid-Amateur, Wilson finished the three-day event with a total of 1-under 215. Runner-up Joe Doody of Huntington Beach had a final round 69 to finish in second at 216.

Following a birdie on the 15th, Wilson, who has a home in Southern California, took a three-shot lead over Doody. Doody got to within a stroke on the 17th, however, when he made birdie to Wilson’s bogey.
On the pivotal 18th, Doody again made birdie, but so did Wilson to seal the victory.
Wilson’s victory is the latest for NCGA players in the Southern California section. Last year, Modesto’s Jeff Burda claimed the title at the SCGA Senior Amateur Championship.
Burda also won the SCGA Senior in 2011. In 2013, the NCGA’s Gary Vanier won the SCGA Senior title.
