Junior Tour of Northern California 2014-2015 Season Continues With Spring Series
March 12, 2015
Sponsored by Capital Insurance Group® (CIG), the 2015 Junior Tour of Northern California (JTNC) continues its fifth season with the first tournament of the Spring Series, beginning this weekend, March 14-15, in Stockton.
Stockton Golf & Country Club and Elkhorn Golf Club will share the JTNC Spring Series I tournament. The Boys Championship and Girls Championship Flights will play the first round Saturday at Stockton Golf & Country Club, and then move to Elkhorn for Sunday’s final round of the 36-hole event.
Now regarded as one of the premier regional junior golf organizations in the nation, the JTNC was established by combining the resources of the Northern California Golf Association and the Northern California PGA to create a single tour where junior golfers could compete against the best players for an affordable price. This partnership, along with the financial support of CIG, has proved extremely successful.
“The impact and growth of the Junior Tour of Northern California has been remarkable,” said L. Arnold Chatterton, President and CEO of Capital Insurance Group. “We at CIG are particularly proud to have played a supporting role in the success of these talented boys and girls. As the Title Sponsor of the tour, CIG is excited to start our fifth year. Not only do these young athletes receive a wealth of tournament experience, they also gain health benefits derived from walking 18 holes a day at our partner golf courses.”
Support for the Junior Tour of Northern California is part of the CIG Golf Program, through which CIG has become a leader in the support of community golf initiatives throughout the region.
This year, in order to meet Northern California’s demand for quality junior golf tournaments, the JTNC will hold 26 events between March and December. The quality of these tournaments has been recognized by the American Junior Golf Association by awarding performance based entry status to the winners of all Boys and Girls Championship flight events in 2015.
The JTNC Spring Series is scheduled from March through May, with eight tournaments taking the tour to some of the top golf venues in the region:
· Spring Series I: March 14-15 at Stockton Golf & Country Club, Elkhorn Golf Club (Stockton)
· Spring Series II: March 21-22 at Windsor Golf Club (Windsor)

The Holiday Season will finish off the calendar year in November and December. Special events include the NCGA Junior Championship, July 6-7 at Spyglass Hill Golf Course, and the JTNC Tour Championship, July 27-28 at Poppy Hills Golf Course, also in Pebble Beach.
