Ben Peters and Dale Bouguennec picked up wins at the annual Marin County Amateur and Senior Amateur Championship at San Geronimo Golf Course.
Peters, who hails from Redwood City, shot a final round 68 to come in at 142 and defeated Greenbrae’s Larry Salk in a sudden-death playoff to take the Amateur title. Peters had opened with a first round 74.
Salk, who shot a first round 72, also came in at 142 after regulation following a second round 70.
Just missing the playoff and finishing tied for third at 143 were former UC Davis standout Matthew Seramin of San Geronimo and Evan Knight of Novato. Seramin, the winner of last year’s NCGA Amateur Match Play Championship, made a run with a final round 67 while Knight, who led after day one with a 71, shot a Sunday 72.
The Senior Amateur also went to extra holes. There, Bouguennec carded a final round 73 to forge a tie with Rich Rowley and Ken Gosselin. Bouguennec picked up the playoff win.
