Former UC Davis golfer Jonny Baxter shot a final round 2-under 70 to finish at 7-under 137 and win the AmateurGolf.com Silicon Valley Amateur held at par-72 Coyote Creek Golf Course in San Jose.
Baxtser, who hails from Pleasanton, had opened the event with a 67, giving him a two stroke lead entering the final round.
Roman Aragon of Mission Viejo, who was one of two players two behind Baxter after a first round 69, had a final round 73 to finish alone in second place at 142.
Connor Blick of Danville (71-73) and Ryan Gronlund of Pleasanton (72-72) both finished tied for third at 144.
In the Senior championship, Scott Anderson of Danville rolled to a three stroke win thanks to an opening round of 71. Anderson had a 75 on Sunday to finish at 2-over 146.
Terry Foreman of Brentwood finished alone in second place at 149 (76-73). Millbrae resident Ralph Costanzo and Salinas’ Steve Donnelly came in tied for third at 150 after final rounds of 74 and 785, respectively.
