Gidney Elected NCGA President
Lee Gidney of Vacaville (right) was officially named the 88th president of the Northern California Golf Association.
Gidney and other board members for the 2015 golf season were confirmed at the Association’s Annual Meeting at Stockton GCC on Dec. 2.
Gidney has been a member of the board of directors since 2006. He is a Fresno State alum and had long careers as a pilot with the U.S. Air Force, Air Force Reserves and United Airlines. The Cypress Lakes GC member and his wife Karen have a daughter, Beth, son Brian, and two grandchildren.
Gidney will also be on the boards for the California Golf Association and the Pacific Coast Golf Association, as well as the NCGA’s personnel/advisory committee. He succeeds Brian Morse, a Merced GCC member. Also seated were Vice President John Ronca of San Luis Obispo CC (in his eighth year) and Secretary-Treasurer Pat Quinn of San Jose CC (seventh).
Current NCGA directors that were re-nominated for the coming year are: Stacey Baba of EWGA SF Bay Area (second), Brad Bell of Del Paso CC (third), Tom Bone of North Ridge CC (sixth), Tom Carter of eClub East Bay (fifth), John Dodsworth of Palo Alto Hills CC (third), Gary Fox of Spring Creek GCC (second), Robert Goldstein of Sequoyah CC (third), Susan Morse of The Olympic Club (second), Michael O’Donnell of The Olympic Club (third), Gail Rogers of Pasatiempo (fifth), Michael Weeks of Dairy Creek GC (fourth) and Paul Yost of Kings CC (fifth).
Joining the board for the first of a two-year term are Samuel Gross of Crow Canyon CC, David Pearson of Visalia CC and Richard Wise of Granite Bay CC.
