The 2015 San Francisco City Championships got underway with men’s qualifying held at Presidio GC and Lincoln Park GC.
Earning medalist honors and the No.1 seed for match play was Fairfield resident Jason Anthony, who shot rounds of 66 (Presidio) and 68 (Lincoln Park) for a total of 134. In 2014, Anthony finished second to Trevor Clayton in the race for NCGA Amateur Tour Player of the Year honors.
Coming in second was Isaiah Salinda, who finished at 138 after rounds of 70-68. Three players–Zack Sims, Justin Suh and James Yoon–all came in at 139 to earn Top 10 seeds.
A total of 14 players finished at 150 which led to a playoff for the final six match play berths. Those moving on after the playoff were Miguel Delgado, Jay Scheller, Joey Russo, Lucas Carper, David Na and Daniel Hutchison.
Qualifying for the women’s, senior, super senior and open divisions (men and women) will take place the weekend of March 21-22. Championship match play in each division, including the men’s championship, will commence the weekend of March 28-29.
