Monterey resident Nick Moore made it a double at the AmateurGolf.com California Medal Play Championship.
Moore shot 149 and defeated John Greco to win both the Mid-Am division and overall title at Stevinson Ranch Golf Course.
Coming off a first round 76, Moore posted a tourney-low 1-over 73 on Sunday to finish at 149. Greco, who was playing in the ‘Under 25’ division, also finished regulation at 149 after rounds of 75-74.
In the playoff, which began on the par-3 16th hole, Greco’s tee shot landed in a hazard on the right. With Greco in trouble, Moore was able to win with a bogey after chipping to within 8 feet of the flagstick.
In the Senior Division, Joe Zanassi of Fairfield posted a steady 78 on Sunday for a two day total of 159, finishing in front of George Kelley of Stevinson by 2 shots.
Dorothy Donnelly of Salinas, who won the Chardonnay Flight at the recent NCGA Mixed Team Spring Championship with husband Steve Donnelly, defended her Net Division title with a 1-under 143.
