2 Qualifying Spots / 2 Alternates
September 8, 2015
Granite Bay GC member Jon Peterson and Brian Edick are headed to this year’s U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship.
Peterson shot a medalist-earning 2-under 70 and Edick shot 71 to advance through a qualifier for this year’s U.S. Mid-Amateur held Tuesday at balmy Oakdale GC.
For Peterson, it’ll be his second USGA championship this year. He played in this year’s inaugural U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship at The Olympic Club with fellow Granite Bay member Gary Dunn.
Edick, a former standout at UC Irvine, had to get by Sal Felice II in a playoff to earn the automatic second spot.
Felice II will be the first alternate. The second alternate will be David Bennett, who shot 72.
This year’s U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship will be held Oct. 3-8 at John’s Island Club in Florida.
