The Ridge Golf Club came back to take the title.
The Ridge Golf Club fired a final round 15-under 125, and came from a stroke behind, to capture the annual NCGA East Sacramento Zone Championship on Friday at par-70 Carmel Valley Ranch.

Comprised of teammates Chris Martinelli, Jon Rybicki, Scott Dempsey and Scottie Robinson, The Ridge finished the two-day event with a total of 28-under 254, defeating runner-up Serrano Country Club by two strokes.
In Thursday’s first round at par-71 Poppy Hills, they’d card a 129. At Carmel Valley Ranch, the team racked up six eagle and five birdies to go with just one bogey and a double-bogey.
Serrano CC, made up of teammates David Burroughs, Rob Adams, Don Rose and Chris Morgan, shot a final round 17-under 123 to come in at 256. The team, which opened with a 133 at Poppy Hills, posted five eagles and six birdies with zero bogeys to climb the leaderboard.
Both The Ridge GC and Serrano CC earned spots into this year’s NCGA Zone Championship, slated for August 24-25 at Spyglass Hill and Poppy Hills.

Finishing in third place at 261 after a final round 129 was Indian Creek CC. Indian Creek, comprised of teammates Todd Weatherly, Eric Thatcher, Leroy Rogers and Matt Quinn, penciled in five eagles and five birdies to go against five bogeys.
Three teams–Whitney Oaks GC (123), Sierra View CC (130) and Auburn Valley GC (134)–all finished tied for fourth at 262.

There’s a tie at the top after day one of the NCGA East Sacramento Zone Championship.
Auburn Valley GC and Cold Springs G&CC each grabbed a share of the lead in Thursday’s first round at par-71 Poppy Hills Golf Course, shooting matching rounds of 14-under 128 in a format that takes the two best net scores per hole of a four-man team.
Auburn Valley GC is made up of teammates John Benedict, Rick Spears, Mike Buck and John Lamb. Cold Springs G&CC is comprised of teammates Brett Robinson, Marc Flint, Neil Langford and Dan Arens.
In third place at 129 is The Ridge, which is made up of teammates Chris Martinelli, Scott Dempsey, Jon Rybicki and Scottie Robinson.
Also in the mix is Cameron Park GC, which sits in fourth place after an opening 131. The Cameron Park squad consists of David Collum, Bill Wilson, Kelly Wilson and Todd Jarvinen.
Four teams–La Contenta GC, Indian Creek CC, Sierra View CC and North Ridge CC–are tied at 132.
Friday’s final round will be held at par-70 Carmel Valley Ranch. The two low teams will advance to this year’s NCGA Zone Championship, slated for Aug. 24-25 at Poppy Hills.
