The two squads who will represent Northern California in this year’s Cal Scratch League State Championship are set.
Rancho Murieta Country Club and Roddy Ranch Golf Club both emerged from Friday’s NorCal Finals at par-72 Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore. Rancho Murieta won the ‘A’ pod with 25 points, while Roddy Ranch took the ‘B’ pod with 36 points.
In the ‘A’ pod, Rancho Murieta knocked off both San Jose CC and Granite Bay GC, who each finished with 19 team points. Rancho Murieta’s three best scores on the day came from Dean Clapp (76), Danny Gums (77) and Scott Michen (77).
Over in the ‘B’ pod, Roddy Ranch outscored Canyon Oaks CC (31), Kings River CC (17) and Woodbridge G&CC (28). Roddy Ranch’s best three scores came from Mark Miller (70), Todd Hove (72) and Steve Wilson (78).
The event utilizes a format that incorporates Stableford scoring, match play and stroke play.
This year’s Cal Scratch League State Championship will tee off Dec. 7 at par-71 Poppy Hills Golf Course.
