Madera Municipal Golf Course came storming back to take the title.
Madera Municipal GC, represented by teammates Frank Kerby and Eddie Williams, posted a spectacular 13-under 58 to come from three behind and win the 17th annual NCGA Senior Four-Ball Net Championship on Tuesday at par-71 Poppy Hills Golf Course.
Kerby and Williams, who have been great friends for over 25 years, were playing in the tournament for the first time in five years. The duo also won the title in 2010.
Coming off a first round 64, the duo went on a tear, carding four eagles and six eagles to go against just one bogey.
“I played good on the front nine and Eddie played good on the back-nine,” Kerby said.
San Leandro GC @Monarch Bay 2, who jumped into the lead Monday with an opening round 61, fell back to second place with a 66. The SLGC @ Monarch Bay 2 team–Doug Pepoon and Herb Clore–had eight birdies but also three bogeys.
