Spots in the upcoming NCGA Junior Championship were on the line at a pair of qualifiers held Saturday at Haggin Oaks Golf Course and Shoreline Golf Links.
At Haggin Oaks, Samantha Gong of San Francisco and Jessica Jeong of Dublin led the Girls’ event with matching medalist scores of 2-under 70. In the Boys’ 16-18 division, Jeffrey Inouye-Wong of Roseville caught fire, posting a stellar 8-under 64.
The Boys’ 14-15 division saw Thomas Hutchison, the runner-up in this year’s San Francisco City Championship, lead the way with a 4-under 68. The Boys’ 10-13 division saw Ian Gilligan of Corte Madera come in with a 72.
Over at Shoreline GL, Fremont’s Mika Jin was medalist in the Girls’ tournament, posting a 72. In the Boys’ 16-18 division, Shrish Dwivedi of Redwood City was medalist with a 67. Dwivedi, who’s headed to Duke in the fall, was co-runner up at the recent CIF State High School Championship at Poppy Hills.
In the Boys’ 10-13 division, Sebastian Iqbal of San Jose led the way with a 71. The medalist in the Boys’ 14-15 division was Daniel Kim with a 71.
This year’s NCGA Junior Championship will be held July 6-7 at Spyglass Hill.
