Players jockeyed to get into the upcoming NCGA Senior Net Championship in seven qualifiers that were held at different sites on Thursday.
Over at Castle Oaks, Don Pulliam of Greenhorn Creek GC led the way with a 4-under 67. Overall, 11 players advanced through the qualifier at Castle Oaks.
In another qualifier at historic Del Monte GC in Monterey, James McLay of Agilent Technologies Inc. was medalist with a sscore of 3-under 69. Both Augustus Kamburis of Saratoga CC and Sue Stryker of Company Club at Pebble Beach finished tied for second at 71.
Up at Mather GC, Terry Snyder of Two Rivers GC was on fire, shooting a net 11-under 61. The qualifier at Mather awarded 27 spots.
Over at Poppy Ridge, there were two qualifiers, one held on the 9-hole Chardonnay and Zinfandel courses and one on the Zinfandel and Merlot courses. In the qualifier held on Chardonnay/Zinfandel, Michael Hoshida of Transit Hackers GC was medalist with a 65. In the qualifier held on Zinfandel/Merlot, Dave Peterson of Wente Vineyards GC and Douglas Fields of Mather GC shared medalist honors with scores of 70.
In another event at Santa Clara, Randy Lackey of eClub South Bay and Sunnyvale GC member Vincent Delfino shared medalist honors with matching scores of 65.
The qualifier at Shadow Lakes saw James Johnson of Sir GC Area 2Br 116 earn medalist honors with a score of 67.
This year’s NCGA Senior Net Championship will tee off June 1-2 at Poppy Hills.
