Spots in the upcoming 2015 NCGA Senior Championship were on the line as four qualifiers were held at four different sites on Thursday.
In the qualifier at par-72 Riverside of Fresno GC, Bayonet/Black Horse member James Camaione was medalist with an even-par 72 that included two birdies and two bogeys. Finishing in second place at 73 was Corral de Tierra CC member Craig Ling, while Ken Webb of Turlock G&CC placed third at 75. Overall, 12 players advanced through the qualifier at Riverside.
Over at par-72 Roddy Ranch GC, Greg Zipp of Harding Park led the way with a 1-over 73. Finishing tied for second at 75, meanwhile, were Contra Costa CC member Dale Bouguennec and Atascadero GC member David Ujihara. Overall, 25 spots were available in the qualifer at Roddy Ranch.
In the qualifier at par-72 Shoreline GL, a pair of players–John Driver of Callippe Preserve and Richard Petit of Sharon Heights G&CC–shared medalist honors after coming in with matching scores of 73. Ray Kong, a member at Bayonet/Black Horse, finished in second alone at 74.
Another qualifier at par-72 Teal Bend GC saw Mitch Harrison of Woodbridge G&CC take medalist honors with a 72. Finishing in a tie for second at 73 were Tim Snow of Davis GC and Judge Smails Memorial GC member Mike Montgomery. The Teal Bend qualifier had 24 spots available.
This year’s NCGA Senior Championship will tee off March 30-31 at Spyglass Hill.
