Spots in the upcoming NCGA Master Division Championship were on the line at five qualifiers held at five different sites on Thursday.
Over at Ancil Hoffman GC, Woodcreek GC member Brian Arthur led the way, carding a medalist-earning 3-under 69. Behind Arthur were Valley Hi CC member Patrick Henry and North Ridge CC member Chris Petersen, who both shot 71. Overall, 17 automatic spots were awarded in the qualifier at Ancil Hoffman.
At historic Del Monte GC in Monterey, AmateurGolf.com member Trent Tessler was medalist after carding a 3-under 69. Also having no problems at Del Monte was Nicklaus-Club Monterey member Joe Huston, who posted a solid 71 following liftoff to finish in second. The Del Monte qualifier awarded 16 players with spots.
In another qualifier at Poppy Ridge GC in Livermore, Scott Terry of Callippe Preserve GC finished atop the leaderboard after carding a 2-under 71. Terry was followed by eClub East Bay member Andy Nevin and Stephen Molinelli of The Olympic Club, who came in with matching 74’s.
Over at Rancho Solano GC in Fairfield, The Olympic Club member Mark Mance earned medalist honors with a 3-under 69. Also breaking par was Meadow Club’s Kevin Kobalter, who came in second with a 70. The Rancho Solano qualifier awarded 18 players with spots.
In the qualifier at Sunnyside CC, Rancho Del Rey CC Troy Williams paced the field, shooting 73.
This year’s NCGA Master Division Championship will tee off June 15-16 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.
