Spots in the upcoming NCGA Four-Ball Championship were on the line as qualifiers were held at five different sites on Friday.
Over at Darkhorse GC, the teams of Kris Server/Dan Mehan and Dan Becker/Tanner Makimoto shared medalist honors with matching scores of 4-under 68. The Server/Mehan duo carded six birdies and two bogeys, while Becker and Mackimoto posted five birdies to go with just one bogey.
In another qualifier at Deer Ridge, Kevin O’Brien and Taylor Hobin led the way, shooting an 8-under 63.
The qualifier at Riverside GC saw the tandem of Michael Tolladay and Trevor Clayton lead the field with a medalist-earning 7-under 64. Clayton was the 2014 NCGA Player of the Year.
Over at San Geronimo GC, Kyle Gentry and Kevin Kobalter were the low team, posting a 5-under 67.
Another qualifier at San Juan Oaks GC saw Daniel Griffiths and teammate Mark Griffiths post a medalist-earning 62.
Overall, 77 teams earned automatic spots into the championship at the five qualifiers.
This year’s NCGA Four-Ball Championship will tee off May 8-10 at Spyglass Hill.
