Feb. 16-17, 2014
Great first rounds paved the way to victories in the annual Stockton City Four-Ball Championship at par-72 The Reserve at Spanos Park.
In the Championship flight, teammates Mike Steiler and Danny Panniccia shot 16-under 128 thanks to an opening round 63 as the duo went on to defeat runner-ups Kevin Wolf and Mark Calder (133) by five strokes.
Steiler and Panniccia have proved to be a lethal combo. In 2013, the pair won the NCGA Four-Ball Championship and the Fresno City Four-Ball title.
Teammates Mark Miller and Gary Vanier, meanwhile, opened the Senior championship with a blistering 61 en route to shooting 126. The big, early cushion led to a four stroke win over runner-ups Casey Boyns and Scott Anderson (130).
Following the lines of Steiler and Panniccia, Miller and Vanier are the defending NCGA Senior Four-Ball champions.
In the Super Senior championship, Neil Pearson and Jeff Early won with a two-day score of 137 (68-69).
