Spots in the upcoming NCGA Associate Club Net Amateur Championship were on the line as qualifying was held at seven different NorCal sites on Thursday.
Over at Deer Ridge, Jose Quiroz of Pacific Service EMP led the way with a medalist-earning 61. Overall, eight players cracked 70.
In the qualifier at Haggin Oaks, Barry Cooper of Sun Grove GC was medalist, coming in with a 62. Trevor Ferguson of Metro Golf Addix GC was the next lowest with a 65. Overall, there were 22 spots available at the Haggin Oaks qualifier.
The qualifier at Metropolitan GL saw two players finish tied at the top. Both Darrell Santos of e-Club East Bay and Dennis James of Golden State Par Chasers shared medalist honors with identical 63’s.
Over at Rancho Canada GC in Carmel Valley, Cipriano Solis of Pgg Rancho Canada GC led the way, shooting a 64. Solis was one of five players to break 70 at the Rancho Canada qualifier.
At the Reserve at Spanos Park GC in Stockton, Bradley Fry of Christian GC of Central Ca led the way, posting a 63. Finishing a stroke behind at 64 were Tony Garcia of Stockton Maga and Clayton Haas of Vintage GC.
The qualifier at Rooster Run GC also saw two players share medalist honors. There, Bernie Zipp and Chris Ladd, both members of e-Club North Bay, came out on top with a pair of matching 68’s.
In another qualifier at Sunnyvale GC, Ron Villa of Par Valley GC was medalist, posting a 62. There were 20 spots available in the qualifier at Sunnyvale.
This year’s NCGA Associate Club Net Amateur Championship will tee off Sept. 29-30 at Poppy Ridge GC in Livermore.
