Chris Jodis, a member of the nationally ranked Cal State University-Monterey Bay men’s team, shot 145 to win the 14th annual Apple City Amateur held at par-71 Spring Hills Golf Course in Watsonville.
Jodis, who hails from Georgia, shot 76-69 to win by two over San Francisco’s Ben Peters and Sean Dyer of Aptos.
“It means a lot to me,” Jodis told the Santa Cruz Sentinel. “I hit a rough patch. But I’m playing a lot of tournaments this summer, so hopefully this gets me started.”
Jodis’ final round included four straight birdies on No. 13-16.
Salinas’ Matthew Ogden, also a member of CSUMB’s golf team, took fourth with a 148 total.
