Trevor Clayton put an exclamation point on earning 2014 NCGA Player of the Year honors.
The Clovis native, who’s attending Fresno City College this year with plans to transfer to Fresno State next fall, won the annual LasPo Open on Sunday, shooting 7-under 135 at par-72 Las Positas Golf Course.
Clayton, who clinched Player of the Year honors with his record-setting win at the NCGA Valley Amateur Championship, beat the field by five strokes.
Coming in at 140 to finish in a tie for second were Jeremy Sanchez and Pedro Oviedo-Jimenez, who had final rounds of 72 and 69, respectively.
In Saturday’s first round, Clayton and Sanchez, along with John Rosendahl and Tyler Archer, all shot 68 on the 6,700 yard course to share a two-shot lead.
Daniel Robertson placed fourth at 141 after a Sunday 69. Rosendahl finished T-5 after shooting a 75.
