A quartet of players played their way into this year’s U.S. Junior Amateur Championship.
Elk Grove resident David Laskin led the way in Monday’s 36-hole qualifier at par-72 Yolo Fliers Club, posting a medalist-earning 5-under 139 that included rounds of 70 and 69. Laskin’s day included an eagle, nine birdies, four bogeys and a double-bogey.
Placing second at 140, just a stroke behind, was Roseville resident Joshua Sedeno, who posted rounds of 68 and 72. Sedeno also had an eagle with four birdies and just two bogeys.
Coming in a tie for third at 143, and earning the last two spots, were fellow Sacramento residents Alexander Lee (72-71) and Austen Sandoval (71-72).
This year’s U.S. Junior Amateur Championship will tee off July 21-26 at the Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas.
