SAN JOSE – Matt Cohn won his first tournament of the 2013 NCGA tournament point season, winning at the Santa Clara County Championship. The San Francisco resident posted a 54-hole score of 207, three-under par to take a two-stroke victory. Alone in second place was Shotaro Ban with a 54-hole score of 209 one-under par. Taking third place with a score of one-over par 211 was 15-year-old Justin Suh, while alone in fourth place at 214, four-over par was Brian Knoll. Two players tied for fifth at 218, eight-over par Brian Ruiz and Matt Williams, while Drew Bender was alone in seventh place at 220, 10-over par. Three players rounded out the top 10 in a tie for eighth place at 221, 11-over par: Sean Etow, Nick Sako and Taylor Knoll.
In the senior division, Jim Knoll won his third NCGA-sanctioned point event with a 36-hole score of 142, two-over par. Casey Boyns took second place with a score of 148, eight-over par, while Terry Foreman was alone in third at 152, 12-over par. Rob Adolph and Herb Jensen tied for fourth at 154, 14-over par to round out the top five.
