BRENTWOOD – Several collegiate golfers and a couple of mid-amateurs were in the mix at amateurgolf.com’s Diablo Valley Amateur. In the end, University of California sophomore Keelan Kilpatrick won with a 36-hole total of 137. His score was three shots better than St. Mary’s College senior and current NCGA Player of the Year Ben Geyer, who finished at 140. BK Sobhani, a senior at UC-Davis finished third at 14, while St. Mary’s College sophomore Jay Pinkos finished fourth at 142. In a tie for fifth place at 143, were mid-amateur and six-time NCGA Player of the Year and St. Mary’s College senior Mac McClung. Russell Humphrey of Lodi was the other mid-amateur in contention, finishing eighth at 146.
The senior division only fielded four players, with Dave Stone of Danville coming out on top with a 36-hole score of 152.
