PEBBLE BEACH – The Delta View GC team of Rick Bringel, Carl Drennon, Joe Kermode and David Tirey continued its dominant play as it went on to win the NCGA Northeast Bay Zone Championship by eight shots. The team posted a two-day total of 244, a net score of 42-under par, shooting the low score on both days with a 124 at Quail Lodge and a 120 at Poppy Hills. Delta View’s 24-under par Tuesday was highlighted by two net triple-eagles on holes one and 12, in a format which takes the two best net scores of every hole from a four-man team.
Finishing in second and earning the other spot for the NCGA Zone Championship on August 27-28 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill was the team from Rossmoor GC consisting of Terry Dawkins, Agnes Shin, Jae Shin and Marty Warner. The Rossmoor GC team shot a second consecutive day of 126 for a 252, 34-under total. Their 18-under par score was bolstered by three net double eagles on holes 12, 13 and 18. Finishing five shots back of a second place in a tie for third were the teams from Mare Island GC and Hiddenbrooke CC.

CARMEL – The 2012 Northeast Bay Zone Championship finished the first round of play Monday afternoon at Quail Lodge Golf Course. The teams from Delta View GC and Diablo Hills GC set the pace with a first round score of 18-under par, 124. The team of four from Diablo Hills GC got off to a fast start, shooting a combined 13-under par on the opening nine holes. Delta View GC would not be outdone as they finished the final nine holes 11-under par, making for what should be an exciting final round on May 1st at Poppy Hills GC.
Mare Island GC and Rossmoor GC finished the day with a final score of 16-under par, 126, good enough to be tied for third place. Hiddenbrooke CC rounded out the top five with a first round score of 15-under par, 127, putting them three shots off the pace for the lead. The top two teams will advance to the Zone Championship August 27-28, 2012 which will be held at Spyglass Hill GC and Poppy Hills GC.
